Ryan Renteria

CEO Coach and Owner/Founder of Stretch Five

Ryan is the founder of Stretch Five and an executive coach to CEOs, founders, and investment professionals, many of whom run large family businesses. He helps leaders maximize professional and personal performance and growth through expertise in topics such as leadership, communication, talent management, relationships, and health. Ryan coaches 11 CEOs in a group and many 1-on-1, so he specializes in CEO issues. He is referred by VC and PE firms to their CEOs/founders, and by schools like Stanford and Dartmouth Tuck to their alumni leaders.

Ryan is writing a book titled Lead Without Burnout: Growth with Less Stress for You and Your Team. All profits from book sales will be donated to mental health charities such as Mind Share Partners.

Ryan has been on The Private Placement Group’s advisory board since 2014, is certified in governance from the Private Directors Association, and is a diverse member with expertise in finance, leadership, strategy, communication, and data analytics.

Ryan has been speaking since 2009 to audiences such as Goldman Sachs, Balyasny, and Columbia Business School with an average rating of 4.8 of 5. He was accepted to be a speaker to CEOs in YPO.

Previously Ryan spent 9 seasons using data science to advise Indiana Pacers executives on trades, draft picks, and free agents, and coaches on game strategies. Ryan is a former part owner of the Milwaukee Brewers’ Double-A Minor League Baseball team and part of the ownership group for a potential Major League Soccer team.

Prior to this Ryan spent 9 years on Wall Street at Goldman Sachs and two hedge funds, Balyasny and Karsch. He became a partner at 25 and was the managing director of investments in consumer companies while the firm doubled assets.

After a career of strong returns, Ryan left Wall St. at 30 to volunteer at five children’s charities for two years. He also helped over 500 people as an empathetic listener on 7 cups (avg. rating 5.0 of 5) and gave over 1000 pro-bono career coaching sessions (avg. rating 4.9 of 5). He supports Sacramento charities as a fund partner of Social Venture Partners.

Ryan earned a BA in economics from Stanford with highest honors for academic excellence from Stanford’s Latino community.

 

Todd Stern

Managing Director, Alliance Diagnostic Group

Todd Stern is currently a Managing Member of Alliance Diagnostic Group LLC (“ADG”), a Houston, TX-based management services company that oversees the operations and administration of healthcare businesses.

Prior to co-founding ADG, Todd was a Vice President in THL Credit’s direct lending group where he sourced and evaluated middle market investment opportunities, executed transactions and managed portfolio investments in multiple industries.

Before joining THL Credit, Todd was a Managing Director at Capital Point Partners, an investment firm providing subordinated debt and equity capital to middle market companies.

Prior to Capital Point, Todd was Portfolio Manager at W Capital Partners, a private equity firm in New York that acquires direct private equity and venture capital investments in the secondary market. Todd tracked, monitored, and reported on the firm’s investment portfolio and oversaw certain investments within the firm’s funds.

Todd began his finance career in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, where he excelled as an Analyst in the Mid-Corporate Investment Banking group, working on capital raising and strategic advisory projects for middle-market companies.

Todd initially started out as an Associate Attorney in the Public Finance group at the international law firm, Sidley Austin LLP, where he acted as bond and underwriter’s counsel on bond financing transactions.

Todd received a BBA with high honors in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, a JD with honors from The University of Texas School of Law, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.

Anish Monga

Portfolio Manager, Scoggin Capital Management

Past: Corporate Lawyer, Cravath, Swaine & Moore; JD/MBA Columbia Law School & Columbia Business School

Anish Monga is a Portfolio Manager and Head of Global Event-Driven Equities at Scoggin Capital Management, a multi-billion dollar hedge fund in New York City.

Prior to joining Scoggin Capital, Anish served as a corporate lawyer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore where he advised corporate clients and financial institutions on complex merger and financing matters.

Anish received his JD from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and received the Lawrence A. Wein Scholarship. He won the award for best oral argument in moot court competition.

Anish has been published in the Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance and currently serves on the Dean’s Development Council of Columbia Law School.

He concurrently earned his MBA from Columbia Business School, where he was elected to several leadership positions representing the student body, received the Memorial Scholarship, and was chosen to speak at graduation.

Anish also received the Columbia Business School Student Service Award, where his fundraising efforts broke all existing records.

After graduation he served as the Chair of the Reunion Committee, building off his earlier roles as the VP of Alumni and Head of Alumni Transition and Development.

As an undergrad at George Washington University, Anish ran an entertainment company that he founded in high school, which he later sold prior to attending graduate school. He also interned with the New York Mets.

Anish is an angel investor in several promising startups.

Matthew Lipman

Managing Director, Brookstone Partners

Matthew Lipman is a Principal and Managing Director at Brookstone Partners, a middle market growth equity private equity firm in New York, NY. Matthew is responsible for the origination, evaluation, financing, and execution of new investments.

Matthew works closely with the senior management teams of portfolio companies on key initiatives including strategic planning & analysis, executive retention & hiring, and potential acquisitions.

Matthew also manages relationships with banks and mezzanine funding sources and engages in business development efforts to maintain an investment opportunity pipeline for the firm.

Prior to joining Brookstone Partners, Matthew excelled as an Investment Banker with UBS Warburg’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group based in New York, NY.

Matthew was primarily responsible for formulating and executing on complex merger, acquisition and financing strategies for Fortune 500 companies in the industrial, consumer products and healthcare sectors.

Recognized for his exceptional financial modeling, strategic advisory, and client management skills, Matthew was consistently rated at the top of his Investment Banking Analyst class.

Matthew is currently a Director and Member of the Board of TotalStone, LLC and of Denison Pharmaceuticals, LLC, two companies that also experienced growth and success under his leadership and influence.

Matthew received a BS in Business Administration (Cum Laude) from Babson College in Wellesley, MA, concentrating in Finance & Economics.
